A Promising Beginning...
President-elect Barack Obama has made the closing of GITMO a top priority. It will be one of the first things on his agenda.

Divine Intervention
Democratic volunteers in Brown County are calling people who voted in the Democratic primary to remind and encourage them to get out and vote. But they are getting a lot of dickweeds who rudely tell them they are Republicans who would never vote for a Democrat.
As suspected, a lot of Republicans followed Rush Limbaugh's command to vote in the primaries for Hillary. I guess they voted for Hillary. A few Republicans I know voted for Obama, because they believed a black man could never win the presidency.
I guess it's hard being a Republican bigot in these confusing times. They didn't have a candidate of their own that they really liked. So their predicament was, should they cross over to vote for Hillary to keep a black man out of the race, or should they vote for Obama because America will never elect a black man.
I don't think Obama would stand a chance of winning if Bush and the Republicans hadn't made such a holy mess out of nearly everything. So I guess it was fortuitous that we re-elected that moron and allowed him to run the Ship of State aground.
Because of that seemingly foolish decision in 2004, we are now on the verge of electing a man who will become one of our greatest and most beloved presidents.
It almost makes me believe in divine intervention.
